Yes I am alive... and I haven't felt this good in a long time.

All right y'all, I know I kind of left you hanging with my last post a few days ago about getting laid off and then dropped off the face of the Earth. I am totally alive and doing great! I am writing this from the hallway of my house. I am sitting on a stool with my feet propped up on either side of the bathroom door and the laptop in my lap. This may sound strange, but I am watching B take a bath and he is in the process of learning to do it himself. I am trying to teach him to wash himself because he HATES for me to do it. I figure I should stay out of his way and just direct from a distance. So that is where I am at. As far as where I have been, I will fill you in.

On Thursday I slept the afternoon away and didn't really do much. It was really nice. That night we just laid low and took in the situation. After realizing that I got a nice severance package and will be OK for a while, we decided it will be OK for me to take a little time off. At least until we get back from Vegas at the end of the month. (Or maybe next month sometime... :))

So Friday I got up and didn't really know what to do with myself. I went to Starbucks and hung out for all of 10 minutes drinking my iced tea and playing on my IPhone until I felt like a tool and decided it was time to leave. So instead of doing what I really wanted to do which was go home, open and finish a pint of Rice Dream Rice Ice Cream, sit on the couch, watch 16 and Pregnant and read Dlisted. Instead, I did this

Remember when I talked about my ideas of grandeur that I often get. Well this is definitely one of those. It is an idea that I got in my head of a cute little flower box around our front tree using the bricks leftover from when they built our house. Instead, it turned out a little... well... busted. I even went and got a ton of fill dirt, peat moss and topsoil for it that I totally fit in my MINI. Go me!

Bad thing is that I am really bad at math and bought about 3 times the amount that I really needed. Oh well though, we will do something else with it later. It's not like dirt goes bad, does it? Anyway. So that night we went to happy hour at Flips with J's coworkers and I got pretty tipsy in about an hour in a half. Then I proceeded to go home and fall asleep shortly after B did. Partying like a freaking rock star I tell ya! A FREAKING ROCK STAR! The next day was Amy project repair day. We went to Home Depot (my favorite place on EARTH! If I were a lesbian, I would totally be a mullet and flannel wearing one rocking out some prescription safety glasses hanging out at Home Depot on my days off from the docks.) So we got some pavers and flowers to put in this flower box and set off to "modify" my gardening venture. B go to pick out the flowers and he wanted all pink ones because his self proclaimed favorite color. We had fun in the front yard all three of us digging and stacking and gardening.

I recently decided that I want to have an awesome place for wild birds to chill in our front yard so I knew I wanted to add bird feeders and some bird houses to the area too. I even cleaned off the bird bath that was all dirty hidden behind some bushes by the house from the previous owners. So in the end, it turned into a beautiful place for flower and birds and me and B to have a place outside.

Then we went and met the T family for drinks in Roanoke at Cowboy Chow. Of course we ended up at their house getting t to the rashed! Lets just say that Sunday was rough.

Speaking of Sunday! It was Mother's Day! B and J got me a gift certificate to go get a massage. I needed it! We then went to the Snooty Pig Cafe for breakfast. I freaking love that place. They have the best iced tea and french toast. That pretty much summed up our day. I was pretty tore up from Saturday night and didn't feel like doing anything.

Not doing anything has pretty much carried over into the last couple of days. Between daytime television and driving around going to random stores I have done a whole lotta nothin'!

So I think what I need to do is make a list of things that I want to accomplish in the next month, so here it is.

1. Build a birdhouse
2. Purge my house of all unnecessary items
3. Achieve bathroom utopia
4. Teach my dog to walk on a leash without loosing her damn mind
5. Keep up with this blog so I don't have these ridiculously long blogs that no one really wants to read

So what do you think? If you know me then you know that I am full of pipe dreams and ambitions. If you can think of something that I can accomplish in the next month, tell me so I can add it to my list. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Anyway, I think that is enough for one day. If you are still reading, it is either because you really care or because you are curious if I left my kid in the bath to freeze. I did not leave him to freeze. He decided not to cooperate with my self washing agenda and I had to step in. He is now snug as a bug in a rug in bed, which if you think about it, is super gross. Who wants bugs in their rugs? EEEW!

Thanks for reading about my life and I hope you come back again.

So my friend Amy from work was confused about the bathroom utopia goal and I explained to her the normal state of your bathroom. It's called product overload and total abuse of a huge beautiful bathroom. That should be #1 on your to do list- I would kill for that bathroom:)Also since when do Lesbians work at "the docks"?? I learn something new everyday- Love you sista from another mista.
